HOW TO USE MAGI SYSTEM

USER GUIDE

MAGI SYSTEM is a voting system built on several AI models:

Submit a motion and three real AI models, cast as [BALTHASAR-2], [CASPER-3] and [MELCHIOR-1], each state a position. Their positions are then tallied into a single verdict: PASS, DENY, HOLD or ABSTAIN.

Submitting a motion

  • Type what you want deliberated into the MOTION field on the left. Please phrase it as a yes-or-no question.
  • An either-or question ("A or B?") is automatically rewritten as a yes-or-no question before the vote. For a question that cannot be answered yes or no ("How do I...?", "Which one...?"), the three seats abstain.
  • Tick "in EVA World" and the models answer in character as the three sages of the MAGI system from the series (the scientist, the mother, and so on). Leave it unticked and each model answers as itself.
  • Press SUBMIT. The three panels start flickering as they connect and deliberate.

The two rounds

  • Round one: the three models state an initial position independently, without seeing each other.
  • Round two: each model reads the other two positions from round one, then gives its final position.
  • Click a panel to read that model's position and what it actually said.

Reading the verdict

PASS DENY HOLD ABSTAIN
  • PASS: the answer to the motion is yes
  • DENY: the answer to the motion is no
  • HOLD: it depends, or there is not enough information
  • ABSTAIN: the motion cannot be answered yes or no

The three final positions are tallied. Normally the majority decides; if two or more seats abstain, the verdict is ABSTAIN. If the motion is automatically judged to be a major one (EX_MODE: ON), a single DENY is enough to defeat it.

The readout fields

FieldMeaning
CODESerial number of the vote, counting up with every vote the system has run.
EXTENTIONHow long the case is retained, generated automatically from how important the motion is. More important, kept longer.
EX_MODEWhether a single DENY can defeat the motion. Switched on when the motion is judged to be a major one, which the AI decides.
PRIORITYPriority level of the motion. The higher it is, the more likely EX_MODE will be triggered.
